5-hour Baby Sweater

For the future baby brother of one of my former (and favorite) students!  This 5-hour baby sweater is going to be a repeat performer for sure!  I added the hat later and think it just makes the outfit!

Heather's Hat

I am so proud of my dear friend Heather for picking up needles with enthusiasm!  I love her turquoise hat.  I helped by adding the flower.  I am really liking crocheted flowers!

Mohawk Hat

Challenged by my son's friend, I used the pattern Christian's Hat and then pulled fringe through as I would at the end of a scarf to create the mohawk.  He loves it!

Grandkids' Hats

A good friend asked for hats for Christmas to give her grandchildren.  After a week on prednisone, with horrible insomnia, I finished one every night and even used YouTube to teach myself how to crochet flowers!

Max's Sweater

My first real knitted sweater.  It was definitely a labor of love! The pattern is from Appalachian Baby and came in a kit with this organic cotton.  Here is the link.

Close Knit Waffle

My son asked for a red and white hat.  I was trying to prevent the candy-cane effect or the Cat in the Hat.  Easy, quick pattern!

Inside Out Chemo Cap

A good friend of my mother's is struggling with cancer and I wanted to send her something special.  She is a die-hard Buffalo Bills fan so I created this.  The pattern is super-easy and I love the cozy scrunchy results!

Swirly Hat

I decided to try a new swirly hat pattern for a former student of mine who just delivered identical twin baby girls... so sweet!

My First Sweater!

A good friend is pregnant with a sweet baby girl.  I found this pattern online and decided to try!  Surprisingly, it only took me about 3 weeks to create.  Left with extra yarn, I could not resist adding a hat and socks to go with! :)

Sashay Ruffle Scarf

This is a very simple six-stitch knit that creates a fun, ruffled look.  Click here for color swatches and videos showing knitting and crocheting directions.  It's a nice, quick gift idea! :)

Angel Hair Scarf

I have never felt yarn as soft as Angel Hair by JoAnn Fabrics! It is a surprising blend of wool/acrylic/nylon and even though it shows as "fuzzy" it does not seem to shed!
I just finished this for my mother...and one for my sister! Pattern

Love the ruffled edge!

Hand Warmers

So I'm a bit obsessed with these - quick project and a great gift.  I even made these in Washington Redskins colors for my son's teacher so she can type at school on weekends when the heat is off! :)  There are lots of great, easy patterns out there - mine is in the tab here.

Corrugated Hat and Fingerless Gloves

I found a great pattern for a corrugated hat and became slightly obsessed!  I made one for each member of my family for Christmas.  Then I decided to add on the fingerless gloves. It was so much fun! Pattern

Papa del Penguino!
For Sis and Mom
Since my son declared himself a Steelers fan, much to my disappointment, I had to do this for him.
Apparently a good head warmer for a serious DS game!

My pretty niece

I love the pattern when you reduce the crown!

My sweet twin nephews!

I had to make some for ME!

Wool Felted Hat with Flower

The felted hat project - this one was so much easier than I thought it would be! Merry Christmas to Mom!

Prayers for a Mother

When my cousin became pregnant again after losing her first little boy, I decided to take on the Prayer Shawl project as a gift to her.  I have to say that it was hard on the hands and I really had to persevere through it.  Thinking of the recipient, lighting the candles, and saying the prayers definitely kept me in a frame of mind to finish!

Suede Fun Fur Frenzy

I really like the Lion Brand Suede so I combined it with some Fun Fur and got a great scarf for my niece! I just used a garter stitch to the desired length and it curled into a fun fuzzy frenzy (very ferret-like!)...

Adult Socks

So I took a class on how to make socks because I heard that if you can make a sock, you can make anything!  I became quickly addicted!  I spent the year with sock yarn projects in my purse as I knitted them for all of my friends.  I even created my own directions that I have in my PATTERNS tab for you.

Licorice Felting

My father is the king of homemade wine.  "Vino del Penguino" is quite the rave in his neighborhood!  This wine bad was my second project and I used a yarn by JoAnn Fabrics called "Licorice." It was a really fun wool that felted nicely.  I am sorry to say it was discontinued. :(

I also made a purse out of it and had a challenge lining it with satin

First Project

As I have recently become addicted to Pinterest, I decided it was time to display all of my own creations in one place - so here I am!  I started knitting three years ago and I LOVE IT! I just finished my first project for myself as I really enjoy knitting for others.  This was my first creation which I gave to my dear mother in law for Christmas, 2006:
